Urban Garden in Coruña
Estudio MMASA has obtained a runner-up in an Open Competition in Coruña. The goal was to redesign an urban park, named Rosaleda, within Mendez Nuñez gardens. The project was coordinated by Joao Ceregeiro (Ceregeiro- Atelier de Arquitectura Paisagista), based in Lisbon, with the collaboration of agricultural engineer Francisco Gonzalez and the architect Silvia Gonzalez .
The targets of the proposal are below: 1. Preservation of design and materials recognition of their antiquity and reusing the existing. 2. Conversion of this urban park in a space to walk, to talk and to meet instead of a flower exhibition only. 3. Creation of an accessible space, adapted to disabled people. 4. Contention of the project expenses, understanding the good situation of many materials and reciclying the rest in other parts of the city. 5. Promote a project with a low maintenance system.
Particular strategies can seen in the competition panel.
