INES´S HOUSE. 2005
Cambre. A Coruña
The house is located in a traditional environment, modified by the recent construction of various residential areas. It forms part of a group of three other semi-detached buildings that have a minimum setback to the road.
The existing law prevents the volume expansion and the modifying of the façade, so the restoration process must focus in the interior of the existing building. The traditional walls are preserved from the original house, and the distribution is modified in order to adequate it to a different family unity, articulating life around a central space with two levels.
A broken space, which allows the entrance of light any moment of the day, even though it has a condition of dividing wall.
Both parts of the house and its importance are strengthened with a sculpture of Jorge Couceiro.
